Giving up

If you really want everything you touch to succeed then make sure you only touch what you really want. And go after it with all you’re heart. Never give up, even when its dark and the boogeyman is trying to scare you. Guard your heart and press on

Grace and Peace,

Andrew

Gathering dust

Do not leave behind Love, to chase after lust. Love is a rock, a foundation to build and learn, lust is empty; a hollow shell of dust and smoke, once caught, lust crumbles and you stand, covered in filth, alone.

If love has been left, find it again. Lessons are proven learned when we lead our hearts to a place of healing. Leave the dry ash of lust where it lay, blown away to collect on some other unguarded temple.

We can lust after many things, not all of them sexually. We lust after money, power, women, men, cars, houses, and anything else we do not have. The “grass is always greener on the other side” syndrome afflicts us all in some form or other. But we have been tricked, the grass only appears greener on the other side, as though a veil is between us and the adjacent pasture to hinder our vision and cause us to wander. A field is truly greener where we water and care for it. It flourishes where we spend time and effort to ensure its well-being. Just like in Colorado, US where there is no grass that is manicured in the wild, when left to the elements, abandoned, grass dies and withers into the arid, rocky soil. Eventually discarded lawns appear as only a shadow of the beauty they once held. Yet any lawn yearns for a gardener. Every blade thirsting for the smallest bit of attention to bring forth new life. Better than before.

From the failures of the past do we learn to provide what is needed for healthy and lush growth. Have I lost you? Still talking about love over here, I like this metaphor. Maybe some weeds need to be pulled or new seeds sown to produce fruit in your lawn. Maybe you are wandering in the desert looking for a home to begin anew, perhaps you had a lawn and the veil between pastures pulled you in and swallowed you whole. Perhaps that veil is easier escaped than you think. It is all up to you.

Be True to Yourself

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

When I let the things around me, finances, friends, enemies, weather, traffic, or whether or not I have eaten lunch today affect the decisions I make, I’m not making the best choice…Except in the case of lunch. Food…mmm

But for real, so many distractions come into play every day to misdirect, mislead and misguide from our path that it becomes easy to make mistakes. With any choice, big or small, compare the options to the Word. To do that one must know the Word.

Live holy because of what has been done for us. Many times what we want to do and what we ought to do are not the same thing. Following the Spirit of God living within the believers is difficult and often we ignore Him and traverse a path of our choosing. We believe what we want to believe, see only the truth we want to see and nothing anyone says can change our mind because this is our life and we know best. This is a lie of the enemy and he keeps using it because it works. Satan, no not the red guy with a little pitch fork and a tail, but the real devil who was once an angel of the Lord until he let pride get the better of him and he was cast out, seeks to separate us from God in any way he can. Rarely does that mean he tries to harm us or even make things go wrong in our lives. Little lucifer will even help us get exactly what we want sometimes because it is there, when we feel on top of the world that our pride steps in and we want the credit for ourselves. All the glory to God brothers and sisters. Everything we have is His and He alone is worthy of praise.

1 Peter 2:24
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

When I do something right, which trust me is rare ;-), it is because God has given me a moment clarity and wisdom to make the right decision. I love those! I feel such peace and joy when I hear Him and obey. Its better than anything I have ever felt! Yet still I turn to other places and people for guidance when often I know what God asks of me because I do not like the answer He has given and I want someone to make me feel better about my choice. Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same. Oh and if you have friends who, when asked for advice, tell you “do whatever makes you happy”, leave them behind because they do not care if you make the best decision or one that follows your heart for God. They only care about temporary emotional gratification and are not living for the future. They are not even willing to take the time to think about something to tell you that may help! It is like a default setting. “Question ending in what do i do gets answer A.” What makes us happy right now many times…many many many times will leave us empty, alone, ashamed, confused and afraid much sooner than we could imagine when all we were searching for was to be happy. And what are the people doing whose advice we took so readily? Probably spitting the same words on repeat from the edge of the pit you dug listening to them that did not work in the first place. Don’t seek your happiness. You will not find it. Live in service to God, helping one another, loving one another. Peace and real joy will follow. Have compassion and grace for your fellow humans.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Luke 17:33
Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.

Do away with keeping grudges, holding bile in your soul is no way to live. In fact we are commanded to do so! Check it…

Matthew 5:23-24
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,  leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

Guard your hearts. Set goals for your life and work hard to obtain them. Setbacks and mistakes will come but we will make it through with God as forerunner. Never give up on yourself.

Proverbs 3:5-8
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Do not compromise your values or beliefs for people. Anyone who pushes you to do so is not your friend. Friends support you and want you to succeed. Liars and leeches want you to go down with them and will tell you whatever is necessary to make it happen. “I love you, everyone does it, its not a big deal, one little bit won’t hurt, don’t be a prude” or “you’re no fun”, all lies and whatever it is you are letting in will find a spot and grow roots, becoming more a part of you until you forget the time when you believed it was wrong. It is then when all seems lost, but you finally see there is something amiss inside that God can work. Funny how we get to the bottom before we decide to look up and see how far we have fallen.
Be true to yourself, guard yourself, let Him work.

With love,

Andrew

Inspiration

Whenever thou hast read or written,

One’s mind twas lost, at once been bitten

by winged thing in dead of night,

One’s soul consumed by infectious plight.

A fire doth burn so deep, so bright

Until at last one’s hand doth write.

Wherefore one’s mind takes thee this night

Let spirit give thine fingers flight.

Words upon page might have great power

When allowed to flow at proper hour.

Yet should same words within one’s head swirl

And escape not to page or screen unfurled

Then blockaded shall mind ever be,

Trapped emotions whirl incessantly

Beneath the moon with pale, bright heart

Increasing pain and crushing

Art.

Waterfalls of perspiration

Mine warm skin thick with condensation.

Cool air surrounds and gives elation

Unto this heart which beats

For thee, thou art mine

Inspiration.

Act when you feel the call

Take the plunge when you feel the pull.

Do what your heart tells you

Go where the Spirit leads you.

Never give up.

Never give fear the power of your decision.

Good night

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of hands. For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. ” 2 Timothy 1:6,7
